The Los Angeles Beat covered the 2014 LA Loves Alex’s Lemonade Chef Event which raises money for the cure of childhood cancer. The Los Angeles Beat has a nice recap of the event and reveals that the charity raised over $200,000. This feat is especially amazing when you consider that this event started out as a little girl’s lemonade stand. We could not be happier to be a part of this yearly fund raiser and look forward to next year.
Chef Bruce Kalman of Union in Pasadena created a single bite that exploded with flavor and literally stopped me in my tracks. A single duck agnolotti with gorgonzola dolce, pickled huckleberries and fennel plated like modern art proved the restaurant worthy of its place in Bravo’s “Best New Restaurant” competition. Chef Kalman told us they are filming now, and the winner will be selected before the January air date.
